This statement-work is made on an 8 meters long rice paper with the sentence “Hay más futuro que pasado” (There is more future than past) fading as it is repeated on the support. In the absence of a moral meaning, the statement can induce ambiguity in the reader. For the anxious and disappointed, it can be perceived as a torment, and for the hopeful as a warm message.   This work was done during the artistic residency in Vic – Barcelona – Spain. And was part of the exhibition fuera(de)forma. shots: Tai Lamas

Cartas

“Cartas” is the series of drawings in which I bet on the ambivalence of the word “Cartas (letter)” because beyond the direct connection that refers to correspondence, the drawings also suggest a mapping like nautical charts, star charts. Drawings that thus create a vocabulary of subtle communications that overlap, compress, and expand in space. Part of this series is present at the NowHere Lisbon Collectors Club.
