This statement-work is made on an 8 meters long rice paper with the sentence “Hay más futuro que pasado” (There is more future than past) fading as it is repeated on the support. In the absence of a moral meaning, the statement can induce ambiguity in the reader. For the anxious and disappointed, it can be perceived as a torment, and for the hopeful as a warm message.
This work was done during the artistic residency in Vic – Barcelona – Spain. And was part of the exhibition fuera(de)forma.
